Thanks to a tremendous response, deposits have been taken by BHP Publishing for 45 books. This a great start, but we need to bring that figure up to 100, which is the target that I have agreed with BHP before they will send the manuscript to the printers.
This book has been part of my life for the last thirty years, and to have it published will be a dream come true. I have given this project so much, I have thoroughly researched it and is the definitive record of Great Auclum speed trials and hillclimbs. I have also described the background to the events that led to motor racing coming to Berkshire in 1938. Key Auclum personalities are profiled too, including Patsy Burt, the Boshier-Jones brothers (David and Peter), David Good, Roy Lane, Major Charles Lambton, Roger Willoughby and Sir Nick Williamson.

At over 400 pages with many unpublished monochrome and colour photographs, this book will be of interest to motor racing enthusiasts – not just the hillclimbing community – as the topic covers the sport in Great Britain between the 1930s and 1970s. Many historically significant cars and people competed at Great Auclum or were involved in the Auclum story – such as Colin Chapman, Bruce McLaren, Stirling Moss and Roy Salvadori.

There are two versions of the book: the first with a slipcase and multiple signatures by people connected with Great Auclum, this will be £150 plus postage and packing. The second version comes with a slipcase and is signed by me only, this is priced at £95. There will be just 100 copies of each version printed – each will be individually numbered. The format is A4 landscape, and the best materials and techniques as possible will be used in producing this book. Best wishes, Stephen
